Is it possible for children to do programming and have fun – yes, it is! Coder Dojo is a global movement, led by volunteers, who organise free programming courses for young internet users. On any given Dojo event, young people aged between 7 and 17, learn how to write code, how to develop websites, applications, programmes and games.
The event takes place in an informal and creative atmosphere. Apart from coding and programming, the youngsters meet other people their age with similar interests. Thus they share knowledge and information about different aspects of technology and learn many new things.
The events are held on weekends. Those participants, who are younger than 12, must be accompanied by a parent/carer. Everything the children need is their tablet/laptop, as mobile phones do not always support the programmes used to code or create games during the event.
