The Bulgarian Safer Internet Centre (SIC) took part in the annual open-air event for families “Famillathlon” for 11-th year in a row. Almost 4000 parents and their children joined the festivities on 12th May 2019 in the South Park in Sofia. The Centre’s team together with members of the SIC Youth Panel, raised their awareness about the most important aspects of internet safety through different interactive and amusing activities.
The visitors to the Centre’s stand took part in various, interactive games and discussions focused on the online safety of children in different age groups. Such as: PC Doctor - travelling “clinic” dealing with online safety of mobile devices. The PC Clinic initiative is supported by Telenor Bulgaria. The teenagers had the opportunity to test their knowledge about online safety by answering the quiz on the moblile application SafenetApp developed by the Safer Internet Centre and Telenor.
The members of the Youth Panel – Aleksandra Kostova, Daniel Dimitrov, Dimana Dodova, Nikol Koleva and Simona Valeva took part in all activities organised by the Centre. They launched the new campaign against hate online #ГероятСиТи [#YouAreTheHero].
The “Famillathlon” was visited by a record number of families and was supported by over 50 organisations, clubs and companies. All partner organisations offered the parents and their children various activities encouraging them to have fun and enjoy Sunday together. The main organisers of the event were the partners in the Safer Internet Centre – Parents Association.
