Despite the bad weather, over 30 families with children were checked by the PC Doctors. Over half of the patients had “healthy” devices, but there were also many “ill” ones. The Doctors talked with the families and their youngsters about the measures they need to take in order to fix the flaws.
The examinations consisted of 10 questions. Nine of them were related to the settings of the mobile devices, while the last one established whether the children knew who to turn to (apart from their parents) in case that they experience something troubling online.
Apart from the event on June 21, the PC Doctors set up their clinic on several other occasions. During the summer months, over 200 families participated in the examinations. Undoubtedly, many more will visit the clinic in the future.
The original idea for the PC Doctor initiative came from the Luxembourg Safer Internet Centre, which approved its adoption in Bulgaria. The Bulgarian rendition of the PC Doctor was financed by Telenor Bulgaria.
