On January 26 and 27, experts of the Bulgarian Safer Internet Center (from the Applied Research and Communications Fund) conducted training of youth workers from the Plovdiv Youth Center, preparing them to be trainers of children under the Cyberscout programme.
During the two-day training, the participants got acquainted with the basic principles and methods of the Cyberscout training methodology, with the structure and content of the training modules included in the training programme and had the opportunity to participate in practical sessions and practice conducting such modules.
The partnership between the Bulgarian SIC and the Youth Center Plovdiv on the Cyberscut programme dates back to 2018, and in that and the following 2019 year, Plovdiv youth workers trained by the SIC’s experts conducted part of the trainings within the fifth and sixth seasons of the program.
Currently, the Applied Research and Communications Fund and the Youth Center Plovdiv are also partnering on the project “Youth Center Plovdiv – a powerful factor for local development” under the program “Local Development, Poverty Reduction and Enhanced Inclusion of Vulnerable Groups”, financed by the Financial mechanism of the European Economic Area, and within the framework of the project they also exchange experience and prepare, together with other Bulgarian youth centers and the Norwegian foundation “Norsensus Mediaforum”, a new methodology for working with young people, a follow-up of the “Youth in Action” methodology.
The training of trainers was held with the support of the Disney company.
